Paul Hagemeyer was born in 1996 in Neuburg a.d. Donau, Germany. He studied electrical engineering at TU Dortmund University with focus on medical engineering and imaging, machine learning, robotics, system theory and signal processing. In 2019 he spent an exchange semester at the University of Granada, Spain. He graduated as Master of Science in 2021 with the master’s thesis „Deep Reinforcement Learning for ZMP-Controlled Robust and Agile Biped Locomotion“. Afterwards he expanded his medical knowledge by studying medical physics at TU Dortmund University and Ruhr-University Bochum.

In October 2022 Paul Hagemeyer joined at the Chair of Medical Engineering as research assistant and PhD candidate. His current research focuses on reconstruction methods for ultrasound imaging taking into account non-linear imaging models. In particular, reconstruction methods are to be transferred from the acoustic domain to the solution of inverse problems with electromagnetic waves, especially in the field of terahertz imaging.
